Concert Season Crowning Glory

Long live the King! Our classical concert highlights some of the magnificent music performed during coronation ceremonies, including British Crowning Coronation Anthem by Handel; the Austrian Emperor Crowning, “Te Deum” by Haydn; and the Papal crowning Motet "Tu es Petrus" by Palestrina. Headlining the classical music concert is the premiere of “Unxerunt Salomonem” by Le Sueur, a magnificent piece for chorus and orchestra which was performed at the coronation of Napoleon as the Emperor of France in 1804. The music has never been performed outside of France and only three times in its country of origin since the coronation. Join us as we present these royal traditions with the accompaniment of a 25-piece orchestra.

2012's concert was named One of The Arizona Republic's "10 Classical Concerts You Shouldn't Miss" - Ed Masley
