The Phoenix Boys Choir and Phoenix Girls Chorus Be A Star Community Summer Camp is an action-packed week of fun and growth for girls and boys entering 2nd-5th grade in the Fall of 2023. During the week, your child will explore their vocal and acting talents, make new friends, and develop important teamwork with engaging games. Our experienced staff provide a safe and supportive environment for your child to gain confidence, build self-esteem, and have a blast.

Campers will study the production Matilda! and act and sing in scenes with the song selections, When I Grow Up and Revolting Children. As a result, the week will include a focus on musical theater, acting, and choreography. Campers will experience activities designed for them to learn about stage presence, character development, musical theater repertoire, costumes and props. Camp is designed to have equal allotments of time for music and acting study, rehearsal, and camp FUN that is both based in games and music play. Give your child an unforgettable summer - enroll them in our summer camp today!

To serve your busy summer schedule, we offer both half-day and full-day one week camps.

Two camp sessions:

June 19 - 23, 2023

June 26 - 30, 2023

Half-day (8 am - 12 pm) $160/weeklong session

Full-day (8 am - 4 pm) $260/weeklong session

Half and full day campers will receive snacks during camp. Full day campers will need to bring lunch daily.

Benefits of choral singing for your child:

  • Choral Singing Fosters Mastery of Beneficial Lifelong Skills - Singing in a choir is more than just memorizing lyrics and producing beautiful sounds. It requires a focused approach to learn how to read and sing music as well as how to sing and work in harmony with others.

  • Choral Singing is a Full Body Experience - Through choral singing, children learn valuable skills and techniques that foster a strong brain-body connection.

  •  Choral Singing Builds Communication Skills - Communication and expression are the ultimate goals of singing. If you can sing well, you will speak well. The constant pursuit of precise communication is a hallmark of a well-trained singer, and transfers to all aspects of daily life.

  • Choral Singing Expands and Enriches World View - Choral music includes songs from other cultures and languages. Working with a choir that performs a variety of genres and languages fosters a sophisticated understanding and deep appreciation for music.

  • Choral Singing Prioritizes the “We” over the “I” - Teamwork and cooperation are the cornerstones of a choir. In this non-competitive environment, choristers are supported and build confidence as they learn together through singing. The rapid social bonding that choirs encourage is vital in improving one’s health. Hearing other voices helps one to find and develop their own voice.
